Mosaic Blue Dreaming
Blue dreaming is quite a complex mosaic. Not only have i used tiles, but also broken crockery which adds texture to the piece, along with some jewellery, a watch, a porcelain lid, a porcelain fish, glass gems, a cup and spoon, a porcelain lady figurine, a porcelain vase and a small metal bridge. I often pick a few flowers from the garden to put in the vase. Blue dreaming was not designed or drawn up first. Each piece of tile/porcelain is ground to ensure they fit well. It takes a massive amount of time to mosaic this way, but i find it rewarding as it assures good lines through the work. The chain used to hang it up is a heavy necklace i found in an opportunity shop. Wire is threaded through it and securely attached to the back with small bolts embedded in the mosaic behind the tiled edging. It is very strong and stable. Recycling is my passion, and i love to mosaic when i find the time. Blue dreaming took many hours to create. In fact it took me weeks to do and a lot of patience. This item is made of tiles and porcelain vase, porcelain figurines, jewellery, watch, glass gems, porcelain lid, grout, cement sheet, chain, wire, bolts, tiling glue.
